The Hohokam Indians were the first settlers in this charming desert town near Phoenix Arizona, more than 2,000 years ago. Though they did not stay permanently, their spirit remains in the hearts of the Mesa people. There is a peaceful ambiance in this city that emanated from days of old, but yet has the tenacity to carry on for many more generations. Mesa, Arizona, was originally called ‘Hayden’ back in the early 1800′s, and then the name changed to ‘Zenos’ in the late 1800′s. Mormons pioneers started settling in this community around that time, and eventually changed the name to Mesa. Mesa is a beautiful place to visit, or even to live. The weather is sunny and bright year round, and the economy is strong and sure. Mesa, the most populous city in the United States, is determined to keep its Mormon and Western heritage alive and well, even as its prosperity continues to climb upward, and its population is ever increasing. And because of its proximity to Phoenix, the abundance of arts and entertainment available to the Mesans is limitless, not to mention the cultural heritage in this city alone, which boasts the largest art complex in Arizona. The Mesa Arts Center hosts local and national theatrical productions, along with musical concerts and local art exhibits that are world renown. Mesa has three college campuses, which is reflected in the percentage of young people in Mesa who hold a degree at the bachelor’s level or higher. The result of the higher education advantage is mirrored in the realty market. Many of Mesa’s houses on the market are palatial, to say the least. Though there are always the more affordable housing choices available to those who have not experienced the higher level of education. In this growing mecca of decadence, it cannot be said that there aren’t just as many opportunities for all who seek them, from all walks of life. As far as travel opportunities go, Mesa boasts a variety of amenities. Their restaurant selection will overwhelm you with all the choices they have to offer, everything from fast food to the finest dining from every American and ethnic food group in the world. There are numerous parks and sports facilities, high-end golf courses, and a diversity of special events, which includes the Chicago Cubs Spring Training Baseball experience. For the nature lovers, Mesa provides wilderness jeep tours, hiking trails, horseback riding, mountain climbing in Superstition Mountains, and the famous Lost Dutchman Gold mine with many adventures to be had, and four lakes with excellent fishing and boating. The Tonto National Forest is here as well, which is an adventure in itself. So the next time you’re up for adventure and don’t know where to go, give some thought to Mesa, Arizona. Here you have the advantages of a big city, alongside the wonders of nature. There’s something for everyone here, from all walks of life. And if you just cannot get enough of this gem in the desert, then you might want to consider moving here! Arizona Real Estate Listings Boast Amenities and Luxury
Most people turn to the search engines when they want to find something. Home purchasing and selling is no exception. Yet, in the end, 85% used a real estate agent to seal the deal. Only 8% of the available market is listed in popular search engines like Google and Yahoo, reports the WAV Group, which is why most

What is the best way to see Arizona? You may hear that the best way to see any city is on foot, and this is true. The best way to experience the beauty of this unique state is on foot. Well, four feet, actually. Arizona was home to some of the most famous cowboys in the Old West, including Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp, and horses are an integral part of the Arizona landscape.

For those who do not know Phoenix, Arizona, desert; complete with cactus, sand, tumbleweeds, stores that sell cowboy boots and dust, lots and lots of dust. This is not the fault of poor Phoenix that he was placed in the middle of the desert, but we do most of the residents, adding a swimming pool, grass, golf courses and shopping malls among others. When one of the many and growing numbers of citizens Phoenix uses these wonderful additions is part of the system to dust, that we fondly refer to t

Paris has experienced a decrease in tourism. Because of the economy and the city’s reputation for being unfriendly, visitors to Paris are down 17% since January 2009 compared with the same period in 2008. In May TripAdvisor’s questionnaire found Paris to be the most over-rated city in Europe, citing its high prices and unpleasant residents. As a result, the Paris tourist board asked residents to smile. It also set up stands of “smile ambassadors” at the city’s most popular spots and hundreds of roller-skaters formed a giant smile in the Place Vendome. Maybe someone should just tell the Parisians to turn their frowns upside down.
Chicago’s 110-story skyscraper was known as Sears Tower since opening in 1973. Although Sears Roebuck and Co. – the original tenant – moved out in 1992, the real estate investment group that bought America’s tallest building kept the name. In 2009 a London-based insurance brokerage obtained the naming rights as part of an agreement to lease 140,000 square feet. The owners of the now Willis Tower plan a 0 million greening effort; a 50-story, luxury hotel; and glass flooring on the 103rd floor Skydeck for a 1,353-foot look straight down. The Sears name was changed, but were they “sears” to change it?
Delta Airlines hired fashion designer Richard Tyler to design a new uniform collection for female flight attendants. Then the union representing flight attendants who worked for Northwest Airlines before it was bought by Delta filed a grievance. It wants the signature, sexy, red, uniform dress made available to size 28. Although Delta’s new collection offers a variety of outfits in other colors and styles up to that size, the red dress is available only to size 18. Either this issue is fairly addressed or Delta flight attendants over size 18 will be seeing red.
Women won’t be ski jumping in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Although a British Columbia Supreme Court justice ruled that not having a ski jumping competition for women was discriminatory, there’s nothing Canadian courts can do. The decision was made by the International Olympic Committee. According to the IOC, too few women and countries compete at an elite level to justify their competing in the Olympics. Nevertheless, Lindsay Van of Park City, Utah has jumped farther than any man on the K95 hill in Vancouver so perhaps the idea of letting women ski jump in the 2010 Olympics should be jump-started.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Des Moines: This Plains City is Anything but Plain
The next time you’re planning a family vacation you might want to consider Iowa and specifically its capital city, Des Moines. If you’re looking to explore America’s heartland there is no better place to start. In the midst of this agriculturally based state sits Des Moines.
Originally Des Moines was a fort created in 1843 by the military to look after the rights of the Sak and Fox tribal communities. It has changed tremendously since those beginnings and is now the largest city in Iowa and has gained a reputation for being the epicenter of the insurance industry. However, Des Moines has a lot more to offer visitors than just agriculture and insurance industries. If you decide to make Des Moines a vacation, stop then there are some places & things to do that may be of interest.
A first stop may be a visit to the Iowa State Capitol building. It was built in the late 1800′s, between 1871 and 1886, and architecturally showcases the best of 19th century design. Beautiful 23 karat gold leaf covers the magnificent dome and gives it a glow, especially when the sun is out. Daily tours are offered for this impressive structure so be sure to take advantage and add this to your travel itinerary.
Another popular attraction is the Des Moines Botanical Center. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors yearly and is located by the Des Moines River. It’s a lovely place to visit, relax and discover nature’s beauty. Be sure to contact the Center to discover the perfect time for visiting and set aside enough time to stroll through these 14 acres.
Des Moines is also a place for animal lovers. The Blank Park Zoo has thousands of animal species to view and offers fun for children and adults alike. Their mission now includes conservation and education about animals and their habitats. The entire family can enjoy the animals and learn a little as well.
If your taste runs to outdoor activities then consider Walnut Woods State Park. It is a 260 acre land preserved forest that meets at the Racoon River in Des Moines. You can do any number of activities, from river rafting to hunting, hiking, camping, fishing, bird watching, horseback riding and all sorts of other outdoor fun. The enjoyment is limitless and the best part is the preserves are open all year long.
If you’re interested in history then the Jordan House is a must visit. This house was known as a stop on the famous Underground Railroad. The owner of the house, James Jordan, was an abolitionist who took this issue to heart by helping slaves escape to freedom. Today his house is a museum and a place to learn about America’s past.
Another historical house to visit is the Wallace House. It is the former home of agricultural secretary Henry Wallace. It is an historical landmark and does offer tours.
If you really have an interest in historical houses, you should add the Mathias Ham House to your itinerary. It is one of the oldest houses in the state and built by the architect for the state capitol, John F. Rague. It is located in Dubuque, Iowa, but its close enough to make a nice day trip. It does have a log cabin located next to the mansion that might be of particular interest.
If you have the time, take a walk through the Iowa State University campus. It has a reputation as a pristine campus and it is filled with numerous historical buildings. It might be an enjoyable way to spend part of your vacation.
Baseball is a great past time and Iowa does have a Minor league team that plays in the area. They’re called the Iowa Cubs and are actually affiliated with the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Stop by and see a game, you never know which one of these players will eventually be sent up to the major leagues. It’s a way to see baseball stars before they were stars, or a way to just have a good time at a game.
Finally, if you simply want to relax and play a good game of golf then take a look at Willow Creek Golf course. It has 36 holes and is considered to be one of the best golf courses in Des Moines. Go out to the driving range, swing a few clubs, and just enjoy vacationing in Iowa.

Tagaytay Hotel View Park Hotel – Why You Always Feel At Home At This Hotel
Tagaytay Hotel View Park Hotel – Why You Always Feel At Home At This Hotel
One of the nicest things about going places is the friendly people you will meet. More often, it is not just the place but the people in that place that is the highlight of any vacation or trip. In most trips, the hotel where you are billeted becomes the primary vacation place and its staff make up the “people” component of your trip. Sure, lovely rooms and great food are super, but if service is crappy, then nothing else matters. The whole trip is ruined because nothing can quite measure up to the people factor. On the other hand, excellent customer service can make up for a lot of things and it is a strong deciding factor for you to go back to the same hotel on your next trip.
One of the newer boutique hotels that is steadily gaining a reputation of taking very good care of its guests is View Park Hotel Tagaytay. On the frontlines is Freddie Maligaya, 24, who took up Hotel and Restaurant Management in college because he believed it will prepare him well for a job that is always in demand. At View Park, he started out as a waiter in the hotel’s Red Lemon Grill Restaurant before the hotel’s General Manager Joy Tung saw his potential to do much more. After a few months serving restaurant patrons, Ms. Tung offered him the front desk position. And this, Freddie reveals with his quiet smile, is where he feels he is a good fit.
He admitted that at first, he was shy and intimidated by the prospect of having to speak to guests. He quickly realized that the solution to this is to be at least one step ahead by finding out what guests could need, before they even ask it. Even if this calls for the occasional “nanny” duty, Freddie is only too glad to help guests feel comfortable. He says that the front desk position is constantly challenging him to put in his best efforts, but that the pay-offs are rewarding. “Pag nagti-thank you yung guest sa pag-asikaso namin sa kanila, ang sarap ng feeling. Parang mas okay pa sa pagkuha ng suweldo kasi naa-appreciate nila yung ginagawa namin.” (“It feels so good when guests say thank you for taking care of them. It’s sometimes even more satisfying than receiving my paycheck because they appreciate all the efforts that we put into making their stay memorable.”). Now that he’s manning the front desk, Freddie shares that this is where he is growing the most because he connects with all areas of the hotel – restaurant, housekeeping and of course, the guests themselves.
The mild-mannered Freddie says that his job suits him perfectly because his calm personality and even temperament allows him to just absorb everything, including demands from guests and the occasional complaint — without reacting. While unsatisfied guests are a given in the hotel business, Freddie has learned how to use such setbacks to double up on his efforts. He credits his desire to improve and actively contribute in maintaining View Park Hotel’s image as the place where guests feel at home to the strong camaraderie and support from everybody in the hotel’s regular staff. A big help, Freddie says, is the warm care and guidance from the management themselves.
When asked what his dream job is, Freddie replies with an even brighter smile: “Gusto kong maging professional na barista.” Seems he will get plenty of opportunity for that as View Park Hotel has Adam’s Café, the perfect chill-out venue for visitors looking for great coffee – and not the common or commercialized kind, either.
With Freddie to welcome guests and make their stay as comfortable as being at home, View Park Hotel continues its tradition of service that is uniquely theirs: one characterized by sincerity and a genuine desire to help. Evidently, the contentment that the staff feels as a direct result of a solid relationship with management and among themselves translate to a better working environment – and a much more pleasant stay for guests. After all, how can you extend happiness when you don’t have it in you? Can’t fake that. Absolutely.

This is a call to everyone…I am in search of the perfect town.?
I must move from my current town (too much crime, drugs, etc.)
My perfect town would be under 100,000 with four seasons but not too hot (100+) and not too cold (below 0 ) with a low crime rate and affordable housing. A requirement though is public transportation.
Any ideas?
I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah and it is killing me. My son will attend a dual immersion program school, and we cannot even use the local park because of the open drug use and selling. Please help. Any suggestions will be greatfully accepted.
